Obituary for Norma Deanne Fletcher
FLETCHER, Norma Deanne (Smith) 91, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on December 27, 2017. Born in Kansas City, Kansas and a graduate of Wyandotte High School, she moved to Tucson in 1958 where she also attended Pima College and the University of Arizona. In 1964, Norma joined the Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary. As one of the longest volunteers, she dedicated 51 years and over 16,600 hours helping TMC by working in Maternity, the Gift Shop, and her favorite, Surgery Lobby. She held various offices throughout her many years at TMC, including President of the Auxiliary. Norma and family were also very involved in the International Students Host Family Program at the University of Arizona. The family hosted students from all over the world for over 20 years. She was also the President of the organization. Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Harry Arnold Smith, Jr., she leaves behind her husband of 24 years, Donald Fletcher; her son, David M. Smith (Linda); daughter, Renee Crawley (Michael); her grandchildren, Jennifer and Damian-James, and her great-grandchildren, Mathew, Austin and Colton. Norma's Memorial Service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway, Tucson, Arizona on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Family is requesting that NO flowers be sent, please. Gifts may be given to Tucson Medical Center in Memory of Norma Fletcher, or to Christ Presbyterian Church in her name. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
