BENNETT, Donald Henry 9/29/1932 - 10/17/2018 Born at home in Ypsilanti, MI to Myron and Grace (Caplin) Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Laura Sutherland and brother, Myron Bennett. A very special and loving sister-in-law, Phyllis Bennett and nephew, Dennis Bennett have also passed. Don married Dixie Lee (Kellogg) in 1958 and she survives. Daughters, Sandi (Tim) Birk, Lynda (Christopher) Kopach and Lisa (William) Benfield; five loving grandchildren, Andrew (Jessica) Hill, Brittany Hill, Ashley Kopach, Adam Kopach and Alyssa Kopach; many nieces and nephews also survive. With assistance from Casa de la Luz Hospice, Don was able to remain at home where he passed peacefully with family. Don was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp. Having served during The Korean Conflict, 1953-1956, spending most of that time in Japan. Don loved education, having graduated from Ypsilanti High school, Cleary College BBA and Eastern Michigan University MBA. He was also a lifelong member of NRA. Retiring from General Motors Willow Run plant Accounting Dept, he had also been an Instructor at Washtenaw Community College, teaching subjects related to General Motors Employee Development process to the entire plant. Moving to Tucson 25 years ago, Don found much enjoyment in the Flora and Fauna of the desert. Traveling throughout Arizona and the "Old West", he was truly at home. A private remembrance will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to contribute to a charity in Don's name may do so to The Casa de la Luz Hospice or any Veteran's organization Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
