Print
BARRIOS, Angel M. We celebrate the long and fruitful life of Angel M. Barrios whose earthly life began on October 2, 1925, and came to a peaceful end on October 20, 2018, at age 93. Born and raised on the banks of the Rillito River near Prince and Country Club, formerly known as Ft Lowell, Arizona. He was a true native Tucsonan, in a family of four brothers and one sister, three brothers and his sister preceded him in death; Ted, Joe, Max and Helen. He will now join his beloved wife, Mary G. Barrios on the dance floor in heaven. They were married 55 years and raised three boys Michael, Raymond and Mark and many dogs throughout the years, the last one JJ was his favorite. JJ followed him around the yard from the moment he returned home every day until he left in the morning for work. Angel was industrious and had his own landscaping business, whose regular clientele were some of the most prominent Tucsonan’s and they treated him with respect, many lifetime friendships were formed. He was a master gardener, who thought everyone should have green grass and trees even in the desert. They were a happy couple and drew upon their religious base in
everything they did, for many years they attended, and were very involved with, Holy Family Catholic Church. Many came to know them through the Holy Family Monday Night Prayer Group, they believed in the healing power of prayer, the laying of hands and were strong members of the charismatic movement in Tucson. In the early 2000’s they became parishioners of Santa Rosa Mission. Angel like to watch the World Series and his favorite team was the Dodgers. He made a wicked chiltepin salsa and steaks on the grill using mesquite wood for extra flavor. Angel Barrios is survived by his brother Frank (Frances) and his devoted sons, Michael Barrios (Mary), Raymond Barrios (Jessie), and Mark Barrios; his cherished grandchildren, Crystal Barrios and Matthew Barrios; Tata we will miss you and always love you. Private service and Interment will be at Holy Hope Cemetery.
