Obituary for David John "Dave" Fryett

David John Fryett 69, son of Wilber C. Fryett and Norine E. Martin passed away on September 6, 2018 from complications of cancer. At this time, he was living with his sister, Phyllis in Tucson, Arizona.
Survivors include his sister Phyllis (Ron) Spragg of Tucson and brother, Jere (Susie) Fryett of Kingsport, Tennessee. He was also survived by a special cousin, Mary McCarthy and several other cousins, nieces and nephews. David was born September 19, 1948. He attended elementary school at St Gerard’s and high school at Great Falls Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1966. David was always involved with music. He participated in band until he graduated and continued music by playing drums in local dance groups. His love of music and performance led him to playing tuba in various community bands in Great Falls and in Seattle Washington. Shortly after graduation, David returned to GFCHS to help with developing their yearbook and newspaper. David’s other love was photography. He was never without his camera, taking pictures of family members, friends or just beautiful scenery. In 1980, he went with Jere’s high school band to Italy as their official photographer. After graduating from high school, David began employment at Carlson’s music store in Great Falls and started his music retail career until around 1975 when he moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to work at National Music. Leaving Canada in 1985, he moved to the Seattle area and started a new career as an optician. David always enjoyed the outdoors, especially his times camping at Seeley Lake Montana with family. He was fond of boating, water skiing and snow skiing. Hiking was a favorite while living in Washington. When living in Great Falls he had earned his pilot's license and enjoyed many times in the air. David will always be remembered for his smile, his love of family and his readiness to help others. Arrangements by Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel.
