91, passed away on January 4, 2018 after a metastatic cancer diagnosis three weeks prior. Hope was born to William F. and Clara Mae Waggoner Aichele on December 26, 1926 in Shelbyville, IL. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 68 years, Lowell D. Hickman (2016), brother, William F. Aichele, Jr., sisters, Phyllis Shallenberger Pogue and Joan Lawrence. She is survived by her loving daughter, Michele (David) Tuchek, granddaughter, Heidi, and three great-granddaughters who were the loves of her life, Clara, Abigail and Caitlyn, many devoted nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Roger (Nina) Hickman. After high school graduation, she studied music in New York and performed with the St. Louis Metropolitan Opera. Hope was a devout Christian, very active in United Methodist Women, missions work, charity fundraising teas, and also initiated the food bank pantry at Christ Church United Methodist. She dearly loved her family, their special dinners, celebrations and vacationing together. Hope and Lowell enjoyed playing pinochle, summers in Pinetop/Lakeside, and traveling with close friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rula Colvin officiating.
